4. Crack Baby Athletics (Season 15, Episode 5)

Cartman starts a league of crack addicted babies that fight over a crack rock. He then films the babies and post the video on the internet. To get advice about his future sports endeavors, the fourth grader visits the University of Colorado. There he asks the athletic director how he trains his slaves or “student athletes”. Offended, the athletic director ensures Cartman that the student athletes are not slaves because they’re offered housing and a scholarship. This episode is a direct highlight of NCAA student athletes and the often unfair treatment they receive. Universities makes millions on college football bowl games alone. Never mind the prices of jerseys, tickets, concessions, merchandise etc.

By rule the only compensation the student athlete can earn is housing and scholarships. When asked about paying these athletes, the NCAA justified their position by stating the athletes don’t get paid because they’re amateurs, they’re amateurs because they don’t get paid. Furthermore, if a student athlete receives a gift or money from anyone outside of their immediate family, they are subject to suspension and many other disciplinary action.
