Ryan Murphy’s new series American Crime Story is set to premiere soon, and the first episode already has the Internet buzzing.
The American Horror Story spin-off airs its first episode on February 2, 2016 on FX, titled “The People Vs O.J. Simpson.
Starring Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J., John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Selma Blair as Kris Jenner (then Kris Kardashian) and David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, the episode serves to give a behind the scenes look at the events that led up to the now infamous trial of Simpson in 1995.
The trial, in which Simpson was accused of murdering his wife Nicole and waiter Ronald Goldman, has been called the most publicized criminal trial in American history.
Simpson’s team of high profile attorneys, which included Shapiro and was subsequently led by Johnnie Cochran, F. Lee Bailey, Alan Dershowitz, Kardashian, Gerald Uelmen, Robert Blasier and Carl E. Douglas, allowed Simpson to be acquitted after a trial that lasted more than eight months.
