Taking place in the disorderly streets of the South Bronx in the 1970s, this animated video is full of character and grimy visuals, a perfect match for Run The Jewels’ rugged and socially conscious music.
The track is the theme to Rubble Kings, directed by Shan Nicholson and inspired by the documentary and the works of Ralph Bakshi.
Also featured on the official soundtrack alongside RTJ is Bun B, Tunde Adebimpe and Ghostface Killah. The double LP will be available in stores on January 15, 2016 via Mass Appeal Records.
The theme was produced by Little Shalimar and RTJ gave it their proper treatment. The video follows the story of character “Little Nina” who’s attacked by a rival gang and what follows is a street fight of epic proportions between the “Rubble Kings” and the “Javelins.”
