Though there were some discrepancies as to who originated the dance, Migos can certainly take credit for popularizing the dab dance outside of Atlanta. Things were taken up another notch when Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton incorporated the dab in his end zone celebration. This ruffled a few feathers but also now has the entire country getting in the action, with ESPN analysts, grandmothers and many more doing their best dab.
Since then, Cam has been sported court-side at Hornets games, on stage with with Kendrick Lamar and Future doing the move. Today, Quavo and TakeOff of Migos sent a message to the undefeated QB via ESPN dubbing him “dab daddy.”
