Nitty Scott, MC recently sat down with Sway In The Morning to premiere the new single “Negrita” from her forthcoming CREATURE! EP.
The record, produced by Fast Life Beats and featuring artwork by Plugville, is due out February 2016. It’s Nitty’s follow-up to 2014’s debut full length The Art Of Chill. Nitty’s appearance on Sway marked the first announcement of her new EP, much to the excitement of her fans. The track is catchy, bouncy and to use Nitty’s words herself, simply dope.
“It’s one of the first joints off of CREATURE! and it is really is about celebrating and embracing my intersectional identities and me being Afro-Latina,” Nitty shared with Sway. “[It’s about] that intersection and how that is a very specific experience. ‘Negrita’ is a term of endearment in the Spanish community for a cute, cute brown girl. It’s the nickname my mother has called me forever. I just wanted to come up with something really dope for my negritas around the world.”
The track is now available via iTunes and available for streaming via Sway’s Universe.
