Over the years, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady continues to add achievements to his resume that warrant him to be in the discussion for greatest QB of all time. Recently, some pundits have even suggested that he may be the overall greatest to play the position. That can be summed up as conjecture considering that the greatest QB debate is akin to the the greatest MC debate. What isn’t up for debate is Brady’s accomplishments. Appearing in 6 Super Bowls in his career, winning 4 of them, the QB’s numbers become all the more remarkable considering that he has not had much all-pro talent on offense with him.
Last night during the Patriots’ 27-6 dismantling of the Houston Texans, Brady surpassed 4,000 yards passing in a season for the eighth time in his career. This puts him in elite company with Peyton Manning and Drew Brees who are also the only other players to reach that stat line 8 or more times. Manning has reached the mark 14 times in his career, while Brees has 9 times.
Though contemporaries such as Manning have seen better days, the 38-year-old Tom Brady is still as sharp as ever. In terms of efficiency, this season he ranks only behind Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer as the most productive in the NFL.
