Can’t say we didn’t see this coming.
As per a Sheridan Hoops report, it appears that James Harden and Dwight Howard–two guys who need the ball in their hands more than most–have finally begun to butt heads in Houston, as the Rockets try to climb back up the Western Conference standings after a start to the season so dismal, it resulted in the firing of head coach Kevin McHale.
The report claims that Howard playing “second fiddle” to 2014-2015 regular season MVP runner-up James Harden isn’t sitting well with the perennial all-star. Howard is currently averaging 13 points per game–good for the second-lowest average of his career–and hasn’t been the offensive complement to Harden the Rockets had hoped. Meanwhile, Harden is having another sensational year offensively, averaging 29 points, 6 rebounds and nearly 7 assists while shooting 40% from the field. Meanwhile, Dwight Howard hasn’t been the first option on offense since he left the Magic for the Lakers in 2009, but he still feels as if his role has weakened too much.
