2015 was a momental year for the Compton, CA natives known as N.W.A. or N*ggaz Wit Attitude. Having the highest grossing musical biopic in film history with Straight Outta Compton, the world was swept in N.W.A. fever as old music resurfaced, a slew of interviews from members and fringe associates, as well as those customizable “Straight Outta..” memes that were seen every where.

The accolades continue to roll in as it has recently been revealed that the group will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2016. 25 years must pass in order for an inductee to eligible and with the group’s accomplishments collectively and as solo artists, amassing over 100 Million records sold, while also changing the landscape of music, they are definitely a no brainer for inclusion.

N.W.A. will be only the fifth Hip Hop act to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, with Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five being the first, while Run-DMC, Beastie Boys and Public Enemy, also receiving the honor. This was still met with resistance as some pundits felt Hip Hop had no place in that realm.

Much congratulations to Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella and the family of Eazy-E. The ceremony is set to take place on April 8, 2016 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and will air on HBO later that spring.
