The concept of the reality show is simple enough, and was inspired from years of being on the road where the artists made it a priority to eat well on tour. Cookin’ With Salt-N-Pepa is the kind of reality show fans can be excited for: no drama, just good eats and life perspectives from two of the baddest ladies in the biz.

The half hour program brings Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton back on the road, making pit stops along the way at the duo’s favorite restaurants across the country, as well as taking suggestions from family members, friends and fans alike.

“Everything about us is about the Ying and the Yang,” Denton explains in a recent interview. “That’s what we bring to table. I’m Jamaican, so I’m into spicy flavors, and she’s into comforting soul food. That’s going to be interesting.”

“Food is life,” James added. “Everything, for us, surrounds food. No matter where we go, we have a meeting over food.”

Salt-N-Pepa have a lot to celebrate into the new year, including hitting the impressive milestone of 30 years in the music industry at the upcoming Grammy Awards.
