When Puff Daddy announced he was re-adopting the Puff Daddy & The Family moniker, which he made famous in the 90s making hit after hit with Biggie Smalls, Ma$e, Faith Evans and more, excitement was rampant—and for good reason. The sound that dominated one of Hip Hop’s most beloved eras is now the exception, not the rule, and Diddy is determined to change that (even if just for a brief time). He and bona fide master of bounce, Pharrell Williams, succeeded in that task here, creating a dance-happy jam that seemed to single-handedly rejuvenate Puff, and prove nostalgia can be done without sounding dated.
