Announced earlier this year, Vh1 is premiering a new Hip Hop drama entitled The Breaks. The original film is based on the book The Big Payback: The History Of the Business Of Hip-Hop, written by journalist Dan Charnas.
The film is set in New York City in 1990, chronicling the lives of three friends Nikki (Afton Williamson), David (David Call) and DeeVee (Mack Tristan Wilds) trying to make their mark in the music industry. The Breaks also stars a few notables such as Wood Harris, Method Man, breakout star Antoine Harris and more.
