James Harden of the Houston Rockets is spreading Christmas cheer throughout the Houston community with his annual shopping spree for 20 single mothers. Harden grew up in a single parent home, and in a full-circle moment, took 40 local kids and their mothers on a shopping spree to Target in South Houston.
Harden recalls what it was like for him and his siblings growing up in a single parent home, “Growing up, my mom was by her lonesome, so I had to do a lot, me, my brother, and my sister, So I can kind of relate.”

Harden, the 20 mothers, and their kids dressed for the season, taking on the shopping spree dressed in “Team Harden” T-shirts and blue Santa hats.
