7. Earl Sweatshirt
On the grim yet inspired album I Don’t like Sh*t I Don’t Go Outside, former Odd Future clan member Earl Sweatshirt raps “If yo’ n**** had Supreme, we was the reason he copped it”. Earl and his OF affiliates may have introduced the now ubiquitous brand of Supreme to a wide eyed fanbase, yet it was not the introduction of the word “Preme” to the masses that formed copycats; his distinctly relaxed fashioning of its clothing and cool demeanor while outfitted in a camp cap represents the brand’s aesthetic and lifestyle too well. With access to free Supreme garbs, Earl could be a poster for the brand yet chooses to rock the garments that do not instantly evoke the namesake via blatant lettering. Pieces like the Malcolm X Baseball Jersey and the “Eat Sh*t and Die” jacquard t-shirt were coolly layered and they lack the traditional branding that so many rappers require.
