The Phoenix Suns circus has taken another huge hit with the announcement of their star player, Eric Bledsoe out for the year after having surgery. Bledsoe injured his left knee, which was a meniscus tear, in a home loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. Although the surgery was successful, the team made the announcement that Bledsoe would be out for the year and ready for training camp in the fall.

PHOENIX – Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe today underwent successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season. His prognosis is for a return to full playing status for the start of training camp next fall.

This is unfortunate for Bledsoe, who is having a breakout season averaging 20.4 points, 6.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds a game. On another note, this makes Jeff Hornacek‘s opportunity of securing his job  more difficult now that his leading scorer is out.
