Not too long ago, the NFL announced that Coldplay would be headlining the upcoming Super Bowl 50 halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA on February 7th. Today it is being revealed that Beyoncé will join the band as a special guest. It is only right as both acts collaborated on “Hymn for the Weekend,” which was on Coldplay’s 7th studio album, A Head Full of Dreams.
Bruno Mars is also expected to hit the stage, which would be his second time on the Super Bowl halftime show, having headlined the event during the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime back in 2014. Beyoncé is not a newcomer either, she was the main attraction back in 2013’s halftime show were she reunited Destiny’s Child. Sources have confirmed that there will indeed be some very special guest that night as well.
When speaking about this opportunity to perform, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin shared:
Are you kidding me? It’s the greatest moment of our band’s life. We’re going to give it everything we have.
