DJ Mustard took the game by storm in 2014 when his funky West Coast–the Bay area specifically–style of production became the underlying theme of the year, helping propel acts like Rick Ross, YG, Fergie, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa and more to commercial success, and making him a legitimate “super producer” after just three years in the spotlight.

Since then, Mustard has noticeably experimented with different sounds–the work he did on recent projects from Trey Songz and Rick Ross sound nothing like much of his 2014 work, for example–and on this new cut, the Travi$ Scott-featured “Whole Lotta Lovin’,” Mustard departs even further from what we’re used to hearing, mixing La Flame’s heavily auto-tuned voice with a Dance/EDM/Pop instrumental seamlessly. “Whole Lotta Lovin'” could have both of these guys on the charts sooner rather than later.
