The Thunder didn’t win vs the Sacramento Kings, but KD gave out a huge W to a special fan after the loss. He was sidelined with a toe injury so he couldn’t play. Durant came across a 5-year-old Keaton Barron, a young fella who managed to beat leukemia after a three-year battle. What a brave kid and he held up a sign during the game that listed meeting Durant as one of his goals. Durant was furious and wanted to make this kid’s day so during halftime he visited the young man and his family to make his dreams a reality. He even gifted the young Barron with a pair of his game-worn and autographed Christmas Day Nike KD 8 sneakers. Wow! The Real MVP is in the house or shall I say Barron is the Real MVP.
According to ESPN‘s David Purdum, the gifted kicks rest on Barron’s s bookcase, but the young fan is already plotting on putting them to use: “I want to wear them when I get bigger.”
