MJ and Spike Lee were very good friends so it’s only right that Spike reissue’s the 1979 classic “Off The Wall” with Spike Lee‘s new documentary, Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown to Off The Wall.

The documentary will break down the making of Michael and his rise to fame through footage, interviews with talent and family members, and we will also hear word’s from Michael. Lee has directed  MOVIES about MJ in the past, including 2012’s Bad 25 on the album’s 25th anniversary. He also throws an annual block party for the iconic legend in Bedstuy Brooklyn.

Lee’s new documentary will have it’s world premiere Jan. 24 at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It will follow with its TV debut on Showtime Feb. 5. Jackson’s estate and Sony Legacy Recordings are planning to release a package that includes the documentary and the original album in CD/DVD and CD/Blu Ray editions on Feb. 26. via: highsnobiety
