As was previously alluded to by Quest Love of The Roots, The Source‘s co-MVP of 2015 Kendrick Lamar returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday for the world premiere of a brand new song, dubbed “Untitled 2.”

Following a sit-down interview with Jimmy, in which “the biggest name in music,” as he was referred to, discussed his current stranglehold over the 2016 Grammys with 11 nominations (almost unheard of had it not been for Michael Jackson racking up 12 nods for Thriller in 1984), sampling choices, and hobbies – or lackthereof – Kendrick took over the Studio 6-B stage at Rockefeller Center for an invigorating televised performance.

The Compton MC has a history of this sort of approach, harkening back to when he appeared as the final musical guest on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report in 2014 and debuted another untitled record, which was ultimately left off of his LP, never to see the light of day again.

Aside from this particular performance, Kendrick’s only new release since his sophomore LP has been “Black Friday,” his remix of J.Cole‘s 2014 Forest Hills Drive cut “A Tale of 2 Citiez,” but it certainly seems to be an indication of more to come.
