Clocking in at 22 rotations around the sun, Harlem’s Flo Kennedy is putting in work to captivate and win over new listeners.
Teaming up with Pro Era producer HansSOLO for her new single “The Panorama” makes for a smart reveal of the pair’s forthcoming collaborations. The downtempo production enhances her lyrical approach wonderfully, with several key instrumental moments that help bring a dramatic dynamism to Flo’s sound.
A member of Brooklyn’s Pro Era Collective, alongside rappers Joey Bada$$, A La $ole and CJ Fly, HansSOLO, by way of Denmark, has worked to have some impressive production credits, especially considering he’s only 18 years old. Pro Era, a collective of rappers, producers, photographers, comedians and visual artists, is a group to add to your radar, together garnering over 15 million plays on YouTube since Capital STEEZ (RIP) founded the group in 2011.
In this specific track, Flo tells the tale of weighing the pros and cons that come with creating music, and proving she’s got plenty of bars to go around, exhibits her rapid-fire flow through energetic storytelling. “The Panorama” comes full circle at the tail end, with Flo explaining the pros and cons are what they are, and to embrace these complexities through art. “Music is life. Music conceals all of my demons at night,” she raps.
Due out later this year, the rapper is slated to release a new EP currently titled The He(art), produced by Don Solo and HansSOLO.
