DJ Khaled isn’t the only one with major keys – at least not for long. Just days after news surfaced that Kendrick Lamar had a meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House, it has been revealed by Compton Mayor Aja Brown that the West Coast MC will be granted the first-ever key to his city on Saturday, February 13. “You inspire millions and rep Compton with honor,” commended the elected official in a tweet this afternoon.

Kendrick, already recipient of the 35th Senate District’s Generational Icon Award in California as of this past May, is set to join Steph Curry (San Francisco), the Kardashian-Jenner family and Larry King (Beverly Hills), as well as a group of 27 Victoria’s Secret Angels (Hollywood) among Golden State elite who have previously been awarded such prestigious praise.
