Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is not a day off, but a day on; a day of celebrating and remembering one of the most influential leaders of the Civil Rights Movement.
The federal holiday, the third Monday of January, landing on January 18 this year, three days after the leader’s birthday, January 15, celebrates the life and achievements of the trailblazer. From breakfasts, film screenings and parades, to museum free or discount admissions to church events and panels, MLK Day is a day to help serve others and keep the dream alive.
