Yesterday, Sheridan Hoops reported that Rudy Gay, tenured forward for the Grizzlies, Raptors, and now the Sacramento Kings, was involved in an attempted deal that would’ve sent him to the New Orleans Pelicans for 3-point specialist Ryan Anderson. The Pelicans apparently weren’t interested, meaning Gay would remain a King–at least for now.

Last night, the Kings suited up to face the Utah Jazz–one of the teams sitting just above them in the Western Conference race for 8th–and with just a few seconds left on the clock, the ball was in Rudy Gay’s hands, and he did his best to remind the organization why trading him before next month’s deadline isn’t the best course of action. The former UConn standout sunk the game-winning shot with just 0.6 seconds left on the clock, giving the Kings a 1-point victory.
