If you thought the story of Matt Barnes driving a reported 95 miles to his estranged wife’s house to engage in fisticuffs with Knicks coach Derek Fisher was going to die slowly, you thought horribly, horribly wrong. In fact, this weekend, it may have re-peaked. Barnes was suspended two games for the altercation in December, but he didn’t stop there. Over the weekend, he made some pretty controversial comments regarding the incident–and was penalized by the league for them–and somehow played Fisher’s Knicks without incident on Saturday night. Still, there’s more.

Gilbert Arenas, former Wizards guard and a man who’s had his own unbelievable issues with the league–Arenas and former teammate Javaris Crittenton reportedly pulled guns on each other in the locker room–claimed in an Instagram post that he was present for the tail end of Fisher’s alleged fight with Barnes, and had the following to say about the incident.

If you’re wondering how in the world Arenas could possibly be involved, here’s your link: he was engaged to Barnes’ ex-wife Gloria Govan‘s sister, Laura Govan, who’s pictured with Arenas in happier times above. You really can’t make this stuff up.
