Why isn’t anyone talking about Kemba Walker?

The former UConn standout, NCAA National Champion and 1st-round pick has quietly helped the Charlotte Hornets–formerly the Bobcats–become a legitimate playoff contender in an increasingly competitive Eastern Conference, and he’s done it without the help of another star, unless that’s what we’re willing to call Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Nicolas Batum or Al Jefferson. This year, he’s averaging 19 points and 5 assists per game–both careers bests–and while those numbers won’t blow anyone out of the water, he’s certainly getting the job done.

Today, Walker has given us another example of his brilliance, leading his Hornest to a double-OT victory over the Utah Jazz, dropping a franchise record 52 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 8 assists, an absolutely ridiculous performance. Also, it’s not a great Kemba Walker game unless he makes a big man look silly with his ridiculously quick step-back, and/or first step.

Yikes. It doesn’t have anything on this though.
