Classic menswear clashed with hip hop influence on a Paris runway today. It all began with Virgil Abloh’s Pyrex brand and a sly drug reference printed on a Ralph Lauren flannel. Creating avant garde constructions and tailorings, Off-White has been labeled as streetwear yet the clothing form was conspicuously missing on the runway. Drawing inspiration from Lucio Fontana, after a visit to Fondazione Prada, Abloh personally decorated the backs of sturdy canvas coats with a hue palette of yellow, cyan, and magenta.  A host of primarily subtle toned bombers, lengthened trench jackets and moto coats rounded out a nice selection of outwear that perfectly and visually indicate Abloh’s fervent desire to niftily craft and innovate.

Collaborating with Levi’s to further his patchwork denim, tapping Shane Gonzales of Midnight Studios to craft spliced up vintage T-shirts and producing sneakers with Italian footwear brand Golden Goose, the collection was ultimately a diversified team effort. With slim suiting and a selection of Pre-Fall womenswear looks, there was a lot for the fashion community to ogle at while the streetwear fans who fondly recall Pyrex, could walk away pleased at the evolution and attended to.
