In a futuristic, minimalist space surrounded by flames, a white Lamborghini and a dramatic scuffle, A$AP Ferg and Future keep things 100 in the music video for Ferg’s “New Level.”
Directed by Shomi Patwary, the visuals go well with “New Level” which pays tribute to the hustle, and also features cameos from athletes Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gorden, Olympic fencer Daryl Homer, and BMX biker Nigel Sylvester.
The track is expected to appear on Ferg’s forthcoming album, Always Strive and Prosper, and was released last month as a single.
In an interview, the A$AP Mob member said of the collaboration, “Future and I have a lot in common—we’re mutual fans of each other’s work and we both love the grind of getting a lot of work done.”
In regards to the track specifically and the decision to have athlete cameos, Ferg went on to say, “We all came from the bottom to new levels in our careers. Also, I heard many athletes turn up to my music before their games so I dedicate this video to them.”
As of now, Ferg’s follow-up album from his debut in 2013, Trap Lord, is yet to have an official release date but it’s likely it will be dropped in the first part of this year.
