Lyric Michelle and Fat Tony have teamed up for a new single, off Michelle’s forthcoming album, MissDirection.
“Directions” is a beautifully intricate song, with production by Chris Rockaway, that balances rapping with sung vocals in a way that covers a lot of ground, playing off the theme of looking for direction and looking towards an unknown future.
Both Lyric and Fat Tony are Nigerian immigrants, currently based out of Houston, and their songwriting takes them to exploring the American Dream and what that means to them, especially ranging from growing up listening to their parents’ ideas as opposed to what they have discovered on their own.
In a new video directed by Ron West, a cosmic sky scene and playful, colorful lights provide a creative background to assist with Lyric and Fat Tony’s storytelling, visual track.
Lyric Michelle’s album, MissDirection, is slated for a January 28 release.
