After a full day of relentless snow and wind which crippled movement in the Big Apple, the travel ban which had been placed on all streets and highways within the five boroughs and Long Island has been lifted.
As for the buses and trains, the MTA has resumed service on all train lines with limited service on lines that run outside, including the Metro-North. Portions of the A, L and Q lines still remain closed. Limited bus service has resumed as well. The ban was lifted at 7 am.
The Long Island Railroad remains closed, but Governor Cuomo hopes to bring service back for the morning work rush on Monday.
NJ Transit officials say that their service will resume as weather allows.
