Run The Jewels, comprised of Killer Mike and El-P, wowed the rap community last year when they released Meow the Jewels, the world’s first cat-rap charity album.

In conjunction with Adult Swim, the duo has just dropped another gem with a video for lead single, “Meowpurrdy,” directed by legendary animator Cyriak.

In what appears to be a struggle between good and evil, the video is like a really bad LSD trip. Cat limbs are flying everywhere while the poor furry little beasts are eaten and torn apart by one another until they all look like mutant cats raised up from the depths of hell.

Strangely enough, Killer Mike and El-P’s vocals fit well among a backdrop of meows, purrs and hisses. They’re both able to navigate the track in a way that demands a listen, whether you’re a fan or not.

The video arrives shortly after Run the Jewels’ announcement that they’re returning to Coachella in April for an encore performance. This weekend, they’re headlining ESPN’s X-Games in Aspen, Colorado, as well. The duo hasn’t slowed down since their self-titled debut in 2013.

Killer Mike, of course, has been in the headlines frequently with his highly publicized endorsement of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, while El-P is back in the studio working on production for Run The Jewels’ third album.

Meow The Jewels is currently available via as a limited edition, specially packaged tawny brown vinyl edition, with the iconic Run the Jewels album cover hands represented in actual faux fur. The vinyl album can be found at record stores worldwide, and the digital version for free from the duo’s website.
