The announcement excites those who’ve called for a change to the doll’s composition to reflect the average woman, as Barbie’s original frame isn’t proportionate to any woman on the planet.

TIME Magazine put one version of their doll on the cover, announcing the release. Mattel announced 33 new dolls will be unveiled this year, in even more shapes and sizes. The company reporterdly consulted data provided by the Center for Disease Control to design the new dolls to have accurate proportions.
