On Saturday [January 30] Drake whet fans’ appetites by dropping the first single, “Summer Sixteen” off his highly anticipated forthcoming album, View From the 6.
Judging by the looks of Rihanna’s Instagram post last night, the Anti singer is definitely here for Drake’s new track and excited for the release of his fourth solo studio project just as most fans.
Rihanna’s show of support for Drake’s upcoming project does not come as a shock. For years the two have been big proponents of one another musically, personally as well as romantically. During Drake’s OVO Sound Radio mix on Saturday, once again he paid the Bajan pop star homage by playing new cuts from her project such as their collaboration, “Work” as well as “Same Ol’ Mistakes.” All the while singing her praises and letting her know it was an honor to be on the project.
Rihanna in turn returned the favor by posting the below.
Prior to the two collaborating on Anti, the duo teamed up for Rihanna’s LOUD album back in 2010 for her smash single, “What’s My Name” and then again for Drake’s “Take Care” track off the album of the same name in 2011. With the two having a history of appearing on each others albums, we wonder if Rihanna will make an appearance on Views from the 6?
