Teaming up with rapper Awkword for what can literally be called a global collaboration, this epic posse cut features emcees, producers and DJs from all over the world.
The track, “I Am” spans nine countries and four continents on one ambitious seven-minute track. It showcases an impressive network of features, and is part of Awkword’s continuous quest to connect with different musicians from around the world and learn from their respective world views and perspectives through music.
In 2014, Awkword released World View, an album collecting contributions from every continent on the planet—a first for Hip Hop. His next EP, Mid-Flight, continues the collection of music from Awkword’s travels.
For “I Am”, Awkword is joined by Latasha Alcindor (USA), Holstar (Zambia), Wakazi (Tanzania), Five Steez (Jamaica), Modenine (Nigeria), The Assembly (South Africa), and Third Eye (Malawi).
