There’s a DJ Khaled “Ipsum” text generator, and it’s just as magnificently random as you would expect.
Lorem ipsum is just a fancy Latin way of saying filler text. It’s something designers use to gauge how a layout will look (think magazine spread) before the real text is available for use.
Print designers have commonly used the writings of Marcus Tullius Cicero, a Roman philosopher, to fill the empty spaces. However, Lyft product designer Patrick Wong decided to update the selection of available Lorem ipsum with the snapchat writings of DJ Khaled, a major keys philosopher, record producer, jet ski explorer and plant enthusiast.
Jumbled together aimlessly, DJ Khaled’s advice, words of wisdom or whatever you may think of it as, is awesomely entertaining. If you follow Khaled on Snapchat, you can no doubt picture him saying each word.
Here’s an example:
“Put it this way, it took me twenty five years to get these plants, twenty five years of blood sweat and tears, and I’m never giving up, I’m just getting started. They key is to have every key, the key to open every door. Egg whites, turkey sausage, wheat toast, water. Of course they don’t want us to eat our breakfast, so we are going to enjoy our breakfast. You see the hedges, how I got it shaped up? It’s important to shape up your hedges, it’s like getting a haircut, stay fresh. Surround yourself with angels, positive energy, beautiful people, beautiful souls, clean heart, angel.”
