Timbaland is planning to release a new album, Textbook Timbo (or Opera Noir, depends on which rumor you side with), this year, his first studio album since 2009’s Shock Value II. Despite his recent mixtape, Timb has been relatively quiet over the last few years as an artist, opting instead to release a single every now and again, and to provide nurturing for special members of the newer generation, like Tink and Bryson Tiller.

Today, the spotlight is back on Timb, as he’s released a new single and music video featuring Mila J, “Don’t Get No  Betta.” On the surface, it’s a 2016 version of “Promiscuous,” his 2006 #1 hit with Nelly Furtado, with a much more monogamous theme. Dive deeper however, and outside of Timbaland’s auto-tune croons–which he’s had considerable practice with–Mila J emerges as the star of the show, with her insatiable voice leading for much of the way.
