Former Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball was arrested earlier today[February 5, 2016] for allegedly pushing his girlfriend into a table.

Madison, WI police were reportedly called at the Hampton Hotel and Suites at about 3:40 a.m.

“The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend,” said a police source. “She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.” It was also said that his girlfriend suffered a cut on her leg that needed stiches. Ball was taken to jail on a “tentative charge of substantial battery” without incident.

The 25 year old Bronco who left the NFL last year was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 58th overall pick in 2013. In two seasons with the Broncos, Ball rushed for 731 yards and five touchdowns. He was signed as a practice squad member on Dec. 15 by the New England Patriots.
