Throngs of hopefuls appeared at 601 W 26th Street on Thursday, February 4, 2016, all aspiring for a highly coveted spot on a Kanye West curated runway. Yeezus’ hotly anticipated new sonic effort is set to debut in tandem with the latest Vanessa Beecroft directed showcase of “Yeezy Season” apparel soon and those located in New York possessed a rare opportunity this week to become apart of the main event. On February 11, Madison Square Garden will transform into a chamber of Kanye West’s consciousness and creativity, realizing the arrival of the Chicago MC’s latest work. While stoically faced models showcase Yeezy Season 3 clothing, the sounds of the album previously known as Waves, will resonate through the large domelike structure of the infamous “garden”. According to the recently talkative West’s twitter, it has constantly been a fantasy of his to showcase apparel at MSG.

For those lined up outside the casting location, the dream was to appear adorned in strikingly new garbs in front of thousands but many arrived to the casting location and simply hung out. When asked about the audition, Zion Piper, an aspiring Yeezy Season representer responded “It was nice, a lot of girls. I got two numbers!” demonstrating the events status as a bonafide social gathering.
The Source caught up with a host of eclectic and enthused models outside what at first glance appeared to be an office building, after they handed in their respective “headshots” or modeling photographs to the individual collecting and we asked what they had to say about Yeezy clothing past and present.
