In a recent interview with BBC’s 1xtra, Will Smith shed some light on him and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s parenting style. This was prompted after there was much discussion surrounding their son Jaden Smith’s sometimes eccentric choice of attire, namely wearing women’s clothing. Jokingly discussing their parenting, Smith shared “I think it might have been a mistake, we may have gone too far.”
He later went into detail stating that he always pushes his children to do things to the brink of their creativity and this is merely a result of that.
You have to be comfortable doing things that you could fail. Jaden is 100 percent fearless, he will do anything. As a parent it’s scary, it’s really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his artistic decisions and he doesn’t concern himself with what people think.
