When lauded producer/DJ Skrillex says his jaw dropped after hearing the “IT G MA Opus,” it must be something special.
Following josh pan‘s OSWLA’s Worldwide Broadcast release, “Platinum,” the New York City-based producer returns with his latest bombshell, a 14-minute reinterpretation of Keith Ape‘s cult classic “IT G MA Remix.”
Producers sakuraburst, MISOGI, X&G, MEDASIN. and oshi help weave the words of A$AP Ferg, Waka Flocka Flame, Dumbfounded, Anderson .Paak, and Father into a masterpiece of epic proportions, taking the listener on the crazy roller coaster ride with them.
While it’s unclear just how many people are involved with the josh pan project, its Twitter account states: “josh pan is comprised of a team of 20 people. Graphic designers, multiple producers.” The geniuses behind this track are presumably just getting started.
“I feel like I’ve been sitting on this time bomb for a very long time and it’s incredible to finally share it with the world,” josh pan said in a press release. “We started working on this a long time ago with the intent of recreating ‘It G Ma’ in a totally different light. Big thanks to all the producers who were involved – sakuraburst, MISOHI, X&G, MEDASIN. and oshi. They’re all very talented artists that I trust on a personal level. This opus really is a melting pot of feels that reflects our underground scene from SoundCloud. Getting Anderson .Paak on the record was also a huge blessing. He’s a creative beast and so consistent, probably the most multi-talented artist I’ve ever had the chance to work with.”
The Opus is out Friday, February 12th, on OWSLA.
