Ever the underrated shooting guard in the NBA, Monta Ellis got his start in Golden State in 2005, playing there for seven seasons. When Stephen Curry was drafted by the team in 2009, the two showed flashes of dominance together (when they were both healthy). But, the two could never put it together and in March of 2012, he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

With the evolution of the combo guard, and reliance on precision shooting today, Ellis believes had he stayed with Golden State, they probably wouldn’t have won a title.

“If I was there, we probably wouldn’t have won a championship, That’s just how I am and everything happens for a reason.”

“When they moved one of us, look what happened? So they moved me, they won a championship.”
