Since his rise to NBA superstar a decade ago, LeBron James has been complimented about his freakish ability to whisk passes up, down, and across the court, one-handed or two-handed, through the air or off the hardwood. It’s one of the reasons he averages more assists per game than some starting point guards, and the reason D’Angelo Russell probably can’t feel his junk this morning.
Last night’s game was closer than some expected, but the Cavs still walked away with a 9-point victory. Unfortunately, D’Angelo Russell could hardly walk away from anything after this laser pass from LeBron James hit him right in the middle of his groin at point-blank range. Russell was immediately reduced to a crumpled ballplayer in the fetal position, and even as the pass resulted in a turnover pushing both teams to the other side of the court, the Lakers’ first-round draft pick just lay there, motionless.
