As the world stopped and watched Kanye West‘s Yeezy Season 3 show last night at Madison Square Garden, electronic producer meets singer-songwriter, James Blake made noise of his own on his BBC Radio 1 show, premiering his new single “Modern Soul,” which is rumored to be the first track off his next highly anticipated album Radio Silence.
Sticking to his minimal approach, Blake allows his hypnotizing vocals to be at the forefront, while his lyrics and slow tempo piano-melodies take you to another place. Blake takes his time with his songs and creates this tension within his music where you really yearn for the next sound. He is a master at infusing soul, electronic, R&B and pop into all of his music to create masterpieces.
Although Blake is keeping the album and its release date under wraps, the London native has admitted that it will feature Justin Vernon from Bon Iver and Kanye West.
