It seems Rachel Banham is having the best week ever.
It all started this past Sunday when the redshirt senior guard put up 60 points in her team’s double overtime win over Big Ten conference foe Northwestern. A couple days later, she continued the hot shooting, leading her Minnesota Gophers in scoring with 35 points, including a sensational buzzer-beater three-pointer in a victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. After both outstanding performances, Banham became a national sensation, and racked up fans on social media, one of them being none other than the “Black Mamba” himself Kobe Bryant. Besides enjoying his final All-Star Weekend in Toronto, Kobe reached out to Rachel on Twitter.
Congrats on the 60 @rachelbanham15 From what I've seen I don't think it will be the last time you hit that mark https://t.co/JAUgAiadW3

Since those two games, Rachel has averaged 26.1 points per game, shooting 46.8% from the floor and 36% shooting from behind the arc. Be on the lookout for her as tournament time is slowly approaching. The #KOBESYSTEM is still alive and Rachel is a prime example of what the “mambablood” can do for you. Get nothing but buckets.
