On this date in 1978, Felipe Andres Corenel, better known as rapper/activist Immortal Technique was born in Lima, Peru. IT has become one of the most prolific emcees with a message of this generation and has taken his revolutionary rhymes to a global scale.
The Unsigned Hype alumnus has dropped three full length solo projects, three film documentaries and is involved with several charities around the world that help third world countries, such as the orphanage he helped to buildwith no corporate funding in Kabul, Afghanistan. The 38 year old  currently pushes the “Harlem Is Not For Sale” initiative, which is the condemnation of the gentrifying of the historic upper Manhattan enclave that has been the Mecca for African-Americans in the U.S. for decades.
