All Star Weekend 2016: The Best In Quite Sometime

Believe the hype ladies and gentlemen. All Star Weekend 2016 was as the kids in the parks would say partying to their favorite songs in the club on a random Saturday night…..LIT!!! From a epic finish in the Skills Challenge to a classic Slam Dunk Contest Finals matchup, the home that Drizzy Drake built was huge success. Whoever thought a rookie from Newark, New Jersey would out dribble, out pass and out shoot one of the most promising guards in the league en route to a major upset. Coach K and the late great Flip Saunders had to be smiling hard from seeing that impressive showing by the former Wildcat phenom. Klay Thompson finally seek his revenge and dethroned his teammate as 3 point champ in one of the final racks of this last go around. Talk about having to be clutch at the right time. But real talk of the weekend was the eye-popping, jaw-dropping finale of the Slam Dunk contest. Granted, you can say Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon was robbed but let’s be real folks, it’s almost impossible successfully completing a eastbay funk from the free throw line with such ease. Zach LaVine proves to the fans that despite putting up numbers for a struggling but promising young Minnesota squad, he found his sole niche in dominating the highly entertaining dunk contest. While Gordon may have pulled off arguably the greatest dunk in dunk contest history with his mid air”sit-down” jam over Stuff The Dragon while standing on the hooverboard, LaVine’s freakish athleticism once again proved to fans that he doesn’t need props to steal the show, his hops can win you over faster than Shaq giving a 9 on a Aaron Gordon dunk. While Zach is able to win the dunk contest in “back to back” fashion, let’s see if he comes back and pulls a Lil Wayne and gives us a “3 peat” performance. They can’t stop him…..even if they stopped him ha ha ha yea
