Kanye West isn’t playing games – or is he? With his most recent album, The Life of Pablo, still only available in the form of streaming on Tidal thus far – reportedly causing the service’s subscriptions to double as a result – Yeezy already has plans to release another LP this summer. While not many details have emerged, the Chicago MC returned to Twitter just after midnight to announce that the album will be called Turbo Grafx 16 – named after one of the earliest video game consoles.
“Just on some super nerd vibes… one of my favorite gaming systems when I was a kid…” Kanye explained of the sentimental title – which, much like in the cases of So Help Me God, SWISH and WAVES, he noted could potentially change in the coming weeks or months – adding for good measure that Blazing Lazers in particular was probably his most cherished game on the console. Get ready to turn back the clock.
