If you happen to be someone who misses the old Kanye West, you may be in a bit of luck this afternoon, as rare home video footage has been unearthed of Yeezy rapping at 12 years young during a family gathering on May 17, 1990 – said to have been filmed by his supportive mother, the late Donda West.
While some of the lyrics in the brief 18-second clip are difficult to decipher, the Chicago MC – whose latest album, The Life of Pablo, is currently available for streaming on Tidal as we await the summer release of its follow-up, tentatively titled Turbo Grafx 16 – exudes the same level of confidence we’ve grown accustomed to seeing over the years, assertively turning his back on the camera immediately after ensuring listeners that “nothing less could come from West.”
