Last fall, Prodigy of Mobb Deep filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Publishing Group for back royalties for allegedly taking 50% of all his work under his Mobb Deep deal which was signed back in 1995. Prodigy’s solo material was also included though it was not technically covered by the deal. He also went on to say that UMPG was using his music without permission.

Today, TMZ is reporting that Prodigy has settled his lawsuit with the company and will be paid $153,751.21 but only on the grounds that he sends out the following tweet:

My dispute with UMPG was all a misunderstanding. Thankful that we resolved it quickly and happy to be continuing my long-standing relationship with UMPG.

Prodigy did tweet out the statement twice, but both tweets have since been deleted, so the status of the lawsuit and settlement is still a bit unclear.
