Jammer a.k.a. Jahmek Power has been an integral, irreplaceable cog in the fundamental clockwork of Grime and has helped solidify the scene as a core genre of the British underground.

The 33-year old Leytonstone native is a vibrant producer, emcee and creator of Lord of the Mics, a legendary YouTube series documenting the best rappers in Britain battling each other through lyrical jabs, which gets as heated as one could imagine (anyone remember the super hyped Dizzee Rascal v Crazy Titch beef during the scenes formative years).

As an artist, Jammer is a staple member of one of the most talked about labels on the planet at present, the indistinguishable Boy Better Know (BBK). Whilst all the talk of the past week has been about a well-known rapper called Drake signing for the independent label, Jammer has gone under the radar to release an absolute banger of a track called “Sun City,” albeit in conjunction with MTA Records.

Cranked up to a super-charged 140BPM, Jammer is joined by MTA Records head honchos Chase and Status, as well as My Nu Leng, for a party anthem of the highest degree, with the Murkle Man at his illustrious, passionate best.

Dressed in a subdued all-white outfit and showcasing his signature flowing dreadlocks, Jahmek attacks the mic with ferocity, verbally assaulting the haters who doubted that Grime, and his crew, would survive after more than a decade at the pinnacle of the underground. What’s more the artwork for the release has shades of Japanese art and is beautifully aesthetically pleasing on the eye.

Expect to see Jammer at his usual best over the coming months as Grime goes fully international with Drake at the forefront.
