Sony Pictures is bringing us the new Ghostbusters movie this summer, the first Ghostbusters movie since Ghostbusters 2 dropped in 1989. It’s the first of the Ghostbusters films to have an all-female team, and the directors and producers didn’t take any shortcuts looking for hilarious women to play the famed roles. Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Boss); Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live, Top Five, Trainwreck); Kristen Wiig (Despicable Me, The Martian); and Kate Mckinnon (Saturday Night Live, Ted 2) make up the all-star comedy cast set to try to save humanity this summer.
Given each of the ladies’ individual successes over the last few years, it’s plausible to think that these very four women will be dominating comedy for many years to come, so it’ll be fitting to see them join forces for what will surely be a blockbuster film when it impacts during the summer months.
